Insurance and referrals
Self-referral welcome. If you have a GP or consultant referral, bring any letters or imaging reports.
Frequently asked questions about fees
No referral is usually needed to see a podiatrist. Most patients self refer because podiatry is an allied health profession that can be accessed directly. If your GP or another specialist has recommended treatment, bring any notes or reports with you, but it is not required for booking.
Many private health insurers reimburse podiatry appointments, but cover varies by provider and policy. We recommend checking your individual policy before your visit to confirm whether podiatry, routine care or orthotics are included. We provide receipts and clinical notes when needed for claims.
This depends on your condition, how long you have had your symptoms and how your feet respond to treatment. Some issues improve quickly while others require a short course of follow up visits. Your podiatrist will outline an estimated plan after your first assessment so you know what to expect.
Nail surgery fees include the procedure and scheduled redressing appointments. Additional appointments are only required if healing takes longer than expected. For orthotics, the assessment fee is separate from the cost of the devices themselves. Simple adjustments are usually included, though replacement devices or major modifications carry additional charges.
Most people can drive as normal after routine foot care. If you are having nail surgery, certain injections or a procedure that could affect your ability to brake safely, we may advise you to arrange a lift or use public transport. We will discuss this with you beforehand.
Please tell us when you book and on your medical history form. We treat many patients with these conditions and will tailor your care to keep you safe, sometimes in liaison with your GP or hospital team.

Mansoor Butt is a thoroughly lovely and dedicated practitioner. He moved heaven and earth to see me and sort a particularly difficult ingrown toenail. Easily one of the best healthcare practitioners I’ve had to see over the years. The reception staff are wonderful too.
